Member for Campbelltown, Greg Warren, celebrated the successful purchase of a new caddy van, made possible by the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership program.
The vehicle will help Ronald McDonald House deliver essential supplies distributed via their Hospitality Cart to families with sick or injured children in hospital care.
“This grant has delivered real, tangible support for families in our community,” Mr Warren said. “Ronald McDonald House does extraordinary work, and this new van is helping them continue that work with greater efficiency and reliability.”
The van is used to transport supplies for the Ronald McDonald Hospitality Cart, an initiative that provides bedside comfort and essential items to families at Campbelltown Hospital.
These items include snacks and refreshments, toys, blankets and other items to help reduce stress and improve the hospital experience for loved ones supporting a child in care.
Mr Warren praised the organisation’s ongoing commitment to the Campbelltown community.
“Ronald McDonald House is a pillar of compassion and care in our region. I’m proud to support their work and thrilled to see this grant already making a difference.”
The Community Building Partnership program funds infrastructure projects that strengthen local communities across NSW.
Since its inception, it has delivered thousands of grassroots improvements to schools, charities, and community organisations.
Claire Barber, CEO, Ronald McDonald House Greater Western Sydney said: “Thanks to the Community Building Partnership grant, we’re able to keep comfort and care rolling through the wards of Campbelltown Hospital.
"Our Hospitality Cart has already reached over 4,600 families this year, and this new van ensures we can continue showing up for families when they need it most. It’s more than just a vehicle - it’s a lifeline of compassion, powered by community."
