PLANNING FOR SPRING FARM PARKWAY 2
THE NSW Government is kickstarting planning work for Spring Farm Parkway Stage 2, officially calling for expressions of interest to develop the project’s concept design and review of environmental factors.
With Stage 1 approaching completion, Stage 2 of Spring Farm Parkway - a proposed 3km stretch of a new four lane divided road to link Liz Kernohan Drive - is now in focus.
This will be the second proposed stage of an essential link between the Camden Bypass, the Hume Motorway and Menangle Road, Menangle Park.
The future road will service existing and future residential land releases, including Spring Farm, Elderslie, and Menangle Park. It would also provide an alternative east-west route to Narellan Road, with direct access to the Hume Motorway for traffic moving to and from the direction of Sydney.
Transport for NSW is accepting applications from interested parties through to July 5 through an expression of interest process. An assessment on the preferred organisation will be evaluated with engagement scheduled later in 2024.
Sally Quinnell MP, Member for Camden said: "This is welcome news and shows we are committed to progressing the planning of this essential link for the growing communities in south-western Sydney.
"By entering a concept design stage, this project is now moving to Environmental Approval being prepared for future construction, subject to future delivery funding."
Once completed, the road will be an alternative to having to travel to Narellan to reach the Hume motorway.
