Taxes top business concerns, says Opposition
TAXES and government charges remain the top cost concern for NSW businesses for a second straight quarter, according to Business NSW's September report. Confidence sits at -65.0, with nearly one in three businesses cutting staff and only 12 per cent hiring. The NSW Opposition has proposed raising the payroll tax threshold to $1.5M and cutting the rate to 4.75 per cent on the first $10M. Opposition Leader Kellie Sloane said Labor must address high taxes amid record insolvencies.
