Local sporting organisations encourage to apply for $10M in funding  

SPORTING organisations across Campbelltown are being encouraged to apply for a share of the NSW Government's record $10M Organisation Support Program, aimed at strengthening grassroots sport, supporting volunteers and increasing participation across the state.

The NSW Government has boosted the 2026/27 program with an additional $7M, bringing its total investment in the initiative to $35M since coming to office. The funding is available to State Sporting Organisations (SSOs) and State Sporting Organisations for People with a Disability (SSODs), enabling them to expand competitions, improve operations and create more opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to take part in sport.

The program is designed to strengthen sporting organisations while developing pathways from community participation through to elite competition, helping nurture future Olympic, Paralympic and national representatives.

Minister for Sport Steve Kamper said the investment demonstrated the Government's commitment to supporting sport at every level.

"The Government is backing the sports that bring our communities together, from grassroots clubs through to our future Olympic, Paralympic and national champions," Mr Kamper said.

He said the funding would help sporting organisations grow participation, support volunteers and ensure there was a place in sport for everyone, whether they were playing, coaching or volunteering.

Member for Campbelltown Greg Warren urged eligible organisations to seize the opportunity, describing sport as a vital part of community life.

"Sport plays an important role in bringing people together and strengthening our local community," Mr Warren said.

He said many local clubs relied on dedicated volunteers and that the funding would help them continue to thrive while expanding opportunities for residents to get involved.
