To celebrate, Shelly will be bringing her signature sparkle to the classrooms of Exploring Tree, treating students to interactive story time sessions, engaging activities, and plenty of giggles. The visit not only marks the official launch of Wait a Minute!, but continues a long-standing relationship between Shelly and Exploring Tree.
Since 2018, Exploring Tree Director Robyn Legge has gifted Shelly’s acclaimed You’re One! To You’re Five! birthday series to students as part of their birthday celebrations, making books a core part of the centre’s culture.
Robyn’s passion for children’s literature is at the heart of this partnership. “Books open a world of wonder for our children,” says Robyn. “Having Shelly visit us in person is a powerful way to nurture a love of reading from the very beginning.”
Shelly Unwin is beloved for her playful and subtly educational stories, and Wait a Minute! is no exception.
This laugh-out-loud tale offers a clever twist on morning routines and procrastination, capturing the attention of little readers while gently nodding to the concept of time. It’s a gigglefest with a message, wrapped in bold illustrations and bursting with energy.
As part of the launch, children at Exploring Tree also can take home personally signed copies of Wait a Minute!—a treasured keepsake that connects the joy of reading with the magic of meeting a “real-life author.”
