NEW ORAN PARK HOTEL TAKES SHAPE

Going beyond the expected
ELIZABETH FRIAS
GOING beyond the traditional looks of an Aussie pub in the outskirts of Western Sydney is the idea behind the making of soon to open Oran Park Hotel.

The entire Oran Park community awaits as the hotel is shortly unveiled at the once popular car racing track located on a street named after the legendary racing champion Dick Johnson.

It’s a $40M three-storey ultra-modern edifice that owner Momento Hospitality owned by the Colosimo family is breaking ground for the growing suburb offering cosmopolitan amenities.

There’s a rooftop cocktail bar, two gold glass cinemas each taking 40 people, a high-end steak house – all of them built around a unique interior garden to boot – making locals excited to see the “super pub” open its doors.

The hotel will also offer several function and training rooms on the first floor, while the ground floor has a woodfire pizzeria, a bistro, a café, a sports bar and a function centre.

Those cosmopolitan amenities are also designed with sustainability in mind for the benefit of the community and those coming by to enjoy the area such as EV charging station, solar panels to generate electricity, and onsite food and organic waste recycling systems.

Since the sod turning last November, the leaders of Momento Hospitality, Versatile Group and Archebiosis Architects recently held what they called a “topping out celebration”.

It was to “mark the completion of the highest structural point of the three-storey venue”, Versatile Group managing director Fabrizio Perilli said.

“Today’s topping out celebration brings the Western Sydney community one step closer to experiencing the “super-pub” experience curated by hospitality experts and our project partners, Momento Hospitality,” Mr Perilli said.

“Versatile Construction is proud to be responsible for delivering the experience that will enhance the wellbeing and lifestyles of so many”.

Versatile Group has constructed some of the most recognised tourism and hospitality brands in the country such as IMAX, The Star, Stamford Hotels, Vibe Hotels and Four Seasons.

Works are now well underway for the internal fit outs, a much-awaited progress on the project that met “significant challenges posed by the pandemic,” Mr Perilli said.

Momento Hospitality chief executive officer Marcello Colosimo said they’ve received supportive feedback how the local community is thrilled to see Oran Park Hotel come to life.

“Today marks a pivotal moment in the development of the Oran Park Hotel which is set to become NSW's largest hospitality destination,” Mr Colosimo said at the celebration on the top floor of the building.

On the opening day, Mr Colosimo said, locals and guests will be treated to enjoy the expansive indoor and outdoor bistro and lounge, a play area for children, a pizzeria called “Papi’s Pizza”, an interactive sports bar complete with multiple large screens, pool tables and darts.

Among the Colosimo family-owned hospitality and entertainment venues include Bella Vista Hotel, The Governor Hotel, Castle Hill’s Hillside Hotel, Hudson Hotel, Royal albert Hotel in Surry Hills and the Nags Head Hotel in Glebe.
