Work will commence in March that includes:
• The replacement of all box gutters in the pool hall and deteriorated roof flashings and fixings; and
• Remedial work to structural steel columns, steel wall framing, acoustic ceiling panels and steel frames for the external bi-fold doors.
The project will be completed in stages, with Stage One works seeing the closure of the leisure and program pool and Stage Two works seeing the closure of the 25-metre pool.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, said Council secured more than $1.7M in funding as part of the third round of the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program to undertake this project.
“We were so thrilled to have reopened Camden War Memorial Pool earlier this year, after it underwent extensive repair work as a result of damage caused by last year’s flooding events,” Cr Fedeli said.
“Work included the emptying, repairing and refilling of the 50-metre and leisure pools; repairs to the plant room roof, roof framework and cavity; the replacement of solar heating roof lines and pool heat pumps; and much more.
“This facility has had its season extended to 30 April 2023, so there’s still plenty of time to enjoy it.
