Since Cobbitty Bridge was reopened, the area has been experiencing high levels of traffic, particularly with heavy vehicles, which are being driven near local schools and family homes.
With your support we have been able to ensure that a section of the current 60km/h area from 100 Cobbitty Road to 400 Cobbitty Road will be reduced to 50km/h, as will a section of the current 80km/h from 496 Cobbitty Road to the Northern Road will be reduced to 60km/h.
Since being elected as Member for Camden, Cobbitty residents have constantly brought this issue to my attention, eager to fix this area 12 year of Liberal National Government neglect.
With two fatalities caused by heavy vehicles in 2023, this change is imperative.
As a member of the Minns Labor Government, I’m focused on what matters: improving community safety. Speed limit reductions are the first step in working to keep our neighbourhoods safe.
Brief roadworks will be undergone to change existing road markings and speed limit signs.
This work occurred in two dayshifts and two nightshifts between Wednesday, August 28 and Friday, September 13, with day working hours operating between 7am-6pm, and night 8pm-5am.
I’m very proud to be announcing this change, but even more proud of our Cobbitty area. Thank you for your support in delivering this change.
Camden’s Men’s Shed moves
Congratulations to the Camden Men's Shed on the opening of their new location!
The Camden Men's Shed Group has unveiled their new location in Ferguson Lane, Grasmere. After two years of waiting
and grant applications, this build is a long time coming.
I'm so happy to have been able to see it through and to have supported the Men's Shed throughout this process.
Although just a structure so far, the group have already received various donations to assist in the completion of the build — testament to our supportive community.
Congratulations, guys!
