The league table shows Council’s performance in regard to lodgement and determination of development applications, with Wollondilly coming out on top despite having the fourth highest number of determinations.
Mayor Matt Gould said: “I’d like to congratulate the staff at Wollondilly Shire Council for achieving this fantastic result. The Development Approval process relies not only on our fantastic Development Services Team, but many other teams across the organisation, from Customer Service, to Waste and Environmental Services, Assets, Transport and Engineering, and many others who support their efforts.”
“In recent years we have implemented a number of improvements to our service, such as employing a full time Duty Planner and a Planning Portal Officer.”
“We have introduced an online booking system for appointments with the Duty Planner, and we will soon be rolling out an online booking system for inspections as well.”
“I am pleased to see this NSW benchmarking in place so we can see what we have achieved, and to inspire us to continue improving even more.”
“We are currently doing some exciting work in the AI space to help make the processing of our Development Application processes even more accurate and timely.”
“Our recent DA service review is already playing dividends, and we will continue to look at ways of refining what we do.”
